Values of The Practice
Faith
My approach to therapy is centered on clinical psychotherapy and informed by a Biblical lens. As a clinically trained psychotherapist who identifies as Christian, I personally believe that the hand of God is at work in our healing journey, and we are empowered by God to step into the freedom and authority He has given to us to heal through modern therapy techniques and spiritual disciplines.I consider it a deep honor to be apart of this process.
While I hold fast to the idea that my personal faith only serves to help the client in front of me, I am respectful of individual spiritual journeys and faith may not be a requirement for your therapeutic goals. While I will do the best I can to serve these differences, please be advised that there are many wonderful resources outside of my practice that are not faith-focused.
Aspirational Ethics
In the counseling world, there are countless ethical codes that are in place to protect both client and clinician during your healing journey. In my practice, this standard for ethical practices surpasses what is considered simply "good business," and instead reaches toward ethical practices of excellence. This value is founded after the wise teaching: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
Collaboration
My therapeutic apparoach carries a unique tone of collaboration between client and clinician. This value is founded upon highly corroborated data that reveals the contributing factors to experiencing desired change in the therapeutic journey are 40% attributed to the client and external factors, and the next largest percentage (30%) is attributed to the relationship between client and counselor (Miller et al., 1997). This means we need to work together well for you to experience the change you want to see. Let's start on this relationship today.
My Approach
My approach to psychotherapy aims towards theoretical eclecticism, meaning I am trained in a variety of clinical approaches to therapy and will tailor elements to your unique goals and healing journey. I believe that many of our day-to-day discomforts and views on life stem from early childhood experiences and our concept of self worth. For this reason, I often focus on inner child work, attachment based styles, and self-worth exploration and building. As a faith-based practice, my work often incorporates appropriate use of spiritual disciplines to deepen your faith.

I am deeply relational in my approach to therapy. I seek for our session space to be one marked by safety and gentle challenges. I understand you're here to grow, but you're also here to be nourished and poured into. We will strike that balance of both. I enjoy empowering my clients with the tools of psychoeducation, humor, and spiritual exploration when it is applicable and helpful to you.
